Wealth of Wisdom

Wisdom picI get really ”sick and tired” of all the false doctrines; teaching the ‘name it and claim it’ prosperity bandwagon of 21st century ‘religions’.

I agree completely with everything the whole bible teaches as long as the word is rightly divided in truth. (2 Timothy 2:15) Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Satan is Hell Bent on perverting God’s Word! This ‘name it and claim it’ perverted false doctrine comes from (James 4:2). Taught simply as, “You have not because you ask not.” This abridged version is Satan’s half truth, which equals a whole lie. This false teaching lures Believers into selfish secular desires of worldly things. Verses 3 through 8 get completely thrown out the window.

In its complete context, with the inclusion of all verses rightly divided in truth; James teaches us the wisdom to ask according to God’s will through humble prayer. Read the following completed; with verses 3-8 included.

(James 4:2-8) 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Those verses in the book of James teaches us to focus on Some Jesus Things that edify God’s Kingdom. The way to know what to ask for and how to ask, is through the rightly divided wisdom truths found in Scripture.

Pray for wisdom and then READ THE BOOK! Read the Bible for yourself, and in so doing; gain wisdom and truth! The very first chapter of James teaches us to first pray for wisdom, before we even start asking for “stuff” later in chapter four. (James 1:5) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Wealth of Wisdom

Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice?

She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet.

She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors:
“To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men.

O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart.

Listen, for I will speak of excellent things, And from the opening of my lips will come right things; For my mouth will speak truth; Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.

They are all plain to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge.

Receive my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choice gold; For wisdom is better than rubies, And all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.

“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion.

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength.
By me kings reign, And rulers decree justice.

By me princes rule, and nobles, All the judges of the earth.

I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me.

Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness.

My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, And my revenue than choice silver.

(Proverbs 8:1-19)

My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Happy is the man who finds wisdom,And the man who gains understanding;
For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies,And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.

Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew.

(Proverbs 3:1-20)

If you read and understand the above verses in James and Proverbs, then you comprehend that asking for things amiss is truly asking for things of the world. Worldliness is Satan’s trap to prevent believers from embracing sanctification. Wisdom is essential to Christian Maturity and Sanctification. Ask for things according to the Word and not of the world; those things that are necessary on your spiritual quest for the Lord.

 (1 John 2:15-25)

Do not love the world or the things in the world.

If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

King Solomon one of the wealthiest and most intelligent men that ever lived was once asked of God, “Ask! What shall I give you?” (1 Kings 3:5) Solomon the son of David asked for wisdom by asking for understanding to discern justice. (1 Kings 3:11)

God indeed gave him his heart’s desire and also gave him what he didn’t ask for: Both, riches and honor, unlike any other kings of his time. (1 Kings 3:13)

God even went so far as to tell Solomon that if he would walk in His ways, keep His statues and commandments; He would lengthen Solomon’s days. (1 Kings 3:14)

The Principle Thing

What we can gleam from this article so far is that; Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. (Proverbs 4:7) How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. (Proverbs 16:16)

Since the principle thing is Wisdom then everything that follows is a byproduct of understanding this knowledge. You have heard it said that “knowledge is power.” Well surprise! It’s biblical too! (Proverbs 24:5) A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength;

God is waiting to bless the believer who gains knowledge through understanding the wisdom that comes from God. We must be good stewards of all the blessings that come from an intelligence to make righteous decisions and take actions that benefit God’s Kingdom. The byproducts of this sanctified behavior is the provisions to live a long life enjoying God’s statues and commandments.

Now; You know the whole truth, evolving the spiritual dynamics necessary to ‘name it and claim it’ for God. With Wisdom: Join the battle to reclaim that which Satan (the locust) has eaten in your life.

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.

(Joel 2:25)
